Its been too long

I am sorry to all those that have been checking my blog and seeing nothing but the same old posts. I am however happy that I have this opportunity to let you all know how Sen.Brownback is doing. First off Sam has been terribly busy these past weeks and I have even lost connections with the campaign so I dont want to give you any false information so I am just going to show you what the Brownback.com says is going on. U.S. Senator Sam Brownback will be in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, February 24 to address the Iowa Federation of College Republicans Annual Convention, which is open to the media. Brownback will also hold meetings with key Iowa legislators and activists.

Senator Brownback’s trip to Iowa closes out a strong week on the campaign trail, during which the Senator from Kansas met with donors, activists and elected officials in Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Arizona, and California in addition to Iowa.

Brownback also completed a fact-finding trip to the US-Mexico border and participated in a panel discussion on slavery in the modern era with the producers of the new film, Amazing Grace, which opens in theatres nationwide tomorrow.

Next week, Brownback will visit South Carolina and later address the CPAC conference in Washington DC as he continues to build momentum in his campaign for the White House.

Other members of the panel include Ken Wales, Patricia Heaton, David Hunt, all producers of Amazing Grace, and Marshall Mitchell, of Wilberforce University. Craig Detweiler is the moderator.

Amazing Grace, which opens on Friday, is a film about British Parliamentarian William Wilberforce, who for twenty years led the fight to end the slave trade in the British Empire. Brownback considers Wilberforce one of his greatest personal heroes, and recently authored a Senate resolution honoring Wilberforce and commemorating 200 years since the end of the slave trade in the British Empire.

“As the 200th anniversary of British slave trade abolition approaches we should celebrate Wilberforce’s victories and use his legacy as an inspiration to renew our culture by continuing to fight for human life and human dignity,” Brownback said.

Senator Brownback was instrumental in drafting and passing the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act in 2000, which seeks to combat human trafficking. In 2006, the Economist magazine called Senator Brownback “The Wilberforce Republican.”

Brownback Fact-Finding Mission to US-Mexico Border Tomorrow

Alexandria, VA – U.S. Senator Sam Brownback will visit the U.S.-Mexico border on Wednesday, February 21st. Brownback plans to tour the U.S.-Mexico border at Nogales, Arizona and visit towns along the border impacted by illegal immigration. Senator Brownback is also scheduled to meet with DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff in Tucson to discuss ways of establishing full security on the US-Mexico border and preventing all illegal border crossings.

Senator Brownback will release findings of his trip to the US-Mexico border in the near future.

Sams not alone

Sen.Sam Brownback said he used to run on Sam power but not anymore. Sam said his way just wasn't working (can I get a amen?) but now hes got something that can work for everyone. Sam says hes done with Sam power cause now he runs on God power. Sam's life was changed forever. This moment is a story that Sam would willingly tell anyone so I thought I would tell you all about how this life altering event happened. One day Sam was with a group of senators when a chaplain challenged the senators to reconsider there conception of democracy. The chaplain asked "How many constituents do you have?" and the senators replied by saying :4 million, 9 million , 12 million. After hearing the response the chaplain said "May I suggest that you have only one constituent?" That moment as Sen.Brownback declares changed his life. Sam used to run on Sam and for Sam, now he runs on God and for God. Sam says "This" -- being senator, running for president, waving the flag of a Christian nation -- "is about serving one constituent." He raises a hand and points above him. That moment changed his life and made Sam what he is today, a man of God who believes as Sam would say himself that "We believe in a culture of life-that every human life is a beautiful, sacred, unique child of a loving God.We believe in justice for all-at all times.We believe in liberty." From The Big House to the White House

Even Louisiana State penitentiary cant keep Senator Sam Brownback from getting to know the American people and spreading the "news". Browback spent Friday evening and all day Saturday at the penitentiary;From the drug cartel to the serial rapist Brownback met them all. Like Brownback said "There aren't probably a lot of votes for me here," he said. "There can be a lot of prayers, though." Indeed it is true. Brownback was there to press his message that faith can work to improve even the lives of hardened criminals. Brownback showed that he cares more about the people than the vote. He spent Friday evening at a prayer service and then when it was time to sleep he slept in a modest 7 by 10 foot cell just feet from convicts who some would say are hopeless but in Brownbacks eyes need just that ...Hope. "I believe in a separation of church and state, but I do not believe in a removal of faith from the public square," he told the prisoners. "Our motto of our land is, 'In God We Trust."' His message to the prisoners was just that, to trust in God. "This prison used to be one of the bloodiest in the country," said Deloch, a Baptist minister at the penitentiary. "It's still bloody because it's covered with the blood of Jesus Christ, and this blood is saving people's lives." Like Brownback once said talking about our country
"If we ever lose our goodness, we will surely lose our greatness." Even good can come from terrible places you just have to have people like Brownback to plant the seeds.
